STAR Phase 02 Endorsement

Phase Two of STAR could be a natural progression for a setting looking to host placement students, offering support for trainees or mentoring those new to the sector.

Endorsement status is awarded to settings of good-standing, able to evidence resources to advise and guide students over a period of observation and practical study.

For experienced, accredited settings this is largely a desk-based process including staff testimonies and regular feedback from trainees. This stage is for highly successful, accredited settings (with at least one year’s successful accreditation already completed via annual monitoring, or equivalent evidence of good-standing over last 12 months). Successful annual monitoring remains mandatory (for a cycle of three years). Every three years, settings must re-apply for accreditation and any endorsement status.
