The Montessori Group and the Chartered College of Teaching, the professional body for teachers, today announce their collaboration on the new adult Learning Hub. The Hub will provide content by and for Early Years practitioners across the UK, to recognise their expertise and support them in delivering excellent early years education.

Due to launch in January 2022, the partnership will involve the development of an Early Childhood Hub, which will be available online and free to access. The online Hub will host and commission high-quality articles, research and insights focused on early years pedagogy and practice, ranging from learning approaches that practitioners might adopt to wellbeing training for staff. The partnership will work with the early years community through the Early Childhood Hub, drawing on a broad range of perspectives and approaches and providing professional development resources of the highest quality.

This will include written, audio-visual and interactive training material, reflective of the breadth of professional content required by the sector today, to help further the development of professional practice and community engagement.

Early years practitioners play a crucial role in the development of children, requiring expert knowledge, behaviours and skills. The new Early Childhood Hub will help practitioners tap into insights from early years experts working across the sector, support their professional development, and recognise their vital role in education.

As the professional body for teaching, the Chartered College supports teachers and staff working across education to access the resources they need to provide the best possible education.

Dame Alison Peacock, CEO

“The early years play a pivotal role in the future educational outcomes for children. However, despite the importance of the early years sector in helping young people to reach their potential, practitioners too often face a lack of resources and professional development opportunities. The Chartered College of Teaching is committed to raising the status of teaching and working with individuals and groups across the early years sector to recognise their professionalism and dedication to children and young people. Our Early Childhood Hub will play an essential role in strengthening the expertise of early years practitioners with their insights at its heart.

We are thrilled that the Montessori Group supports this vision. We look forward to working with them on the Early Childhood Hub to help early years practitioners shape the future of teaching, benefiting children and the whole of society for generations to come.”
