The Chartered College of Teaching (CCT) is the professional body for teachers, working to celebrate, support and connect teachers in providing the best possible education for children and young people.

Montessori Group and CCT are collaborating in development of an Early Childhood Hub: a free, online hub for early years practitioners, focusing on early childhood education. It will provide access to a developing body of high-quality research, resources and professional learning, ranging from learning approaches that practitioners might adopt, to well-being training for staff.

The Hub will include written, audio-visual and interactive training material – reflective of the breadth of professional content required by the sector today. It will play an essential role in strengthening the expertise of early years practitioners, complementing the insights that already exist across the Early Years sector, celebrating the sector’s professionalism and dedication to children.

The second phase of the Early Childhood Hub – launching in June 2022 – will include new materials from early years practitioners, including video content. CCT would like to hear from childminders and practitioners in non-school-based settings to further complement the insights across the Early Years sector. Please email if you are interested in contributing.

Dame Alison Peacock, CEO

“The early years play a pivotal role in the future educational outcomes for children. However, despite the importance of the early years sector in helping young people to reach their potential, practitioners too often face a lack of resources and professional development opportunities. The Chartered College of Teaching is committed to raising the status of teaching and working with individuals and groups across the early years sector to recognise their professionalism and dedication to children and young people. Our Early Childhood Hub will play an essential role in strengthening the expertise of early years practitioners with their insights at its heart.

We are thrilled that the Montessori Group supports this vision. We look forward to working with them on the Early Childhood Hub to help early years practitioners shape the future of teaching, benefiting children and the whole of society for generations to come.”
