Introducing the International Montessori Institute, in partnership with Leeds Beckett University

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the UK’s first International Montessori Institute, in partnership with Leeds Beckett University’s Carnegie School of Education. The Institute will have the UK’s first dedicated undergraduate, masters and PhD courses in Montessori education, and the world’s first Professor of Montessori.

Delay in testing

We’re pleased to see that the DfE has today decided to do the right thing and postpone the baseline testing for four-year-olds for this year. Now it's time to scrap it all together! Children, parents and teachers have experienced an extremely tumultuous time over the last few months. Our focus right now must be the emotional wellbeing of young children and making sure we help them make a safe transition to the new normal.

What parents need to know about the proposed Early Years Foundation Stage reforms

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. All schools and Ofsted-registered early years providers must follow the EYFS, including childminders, preschools, nurseries and school reception classes. In July 2018, the Department of Education published their plans on changes to EYFS.
