Committees & Working Parties

As the principal academic authority of MCI, the Standards and Education Advisory Committee is accountable to the MCI Board for academic governance, and specifically for regulating the admission of students; the curriculum and assessment; the establishment, maintenance and enhancement of academic standards; assuring and enhancing academic quality; ratifying public information and the award of all qualifications. Additionally, the Education Advisory function provides sector and best-practice advice directly into the MCI Board to support educational activity and provide insight into relevant developments to secure MCI’s course and educational service portfolio in line with the strategic vision of the wider organisation. Chaired by the Director of Academic Quality & Partnerships.

The Quality Enhancement & Resources Committee is accountable to the Standards and Education Advisory Committee for assuring the academic quality of all of MCI academic provision and awards and for developing systematic mechanisms for enhancing the quality of provision for all students through appropriate operations and resources oversight. Chaired by the Head of Education.

This Community Representatives Group aims to gather representative feedback from the range of stakeholders relevant to MCI activity and the wider Montessori Community. It is the responsibility of the Group to present the views of students; staff and practitioners and report back as appropriate. It will make recommendations on a range of issues that affect the professional, educational and community experience.

For specific projects or developments, MCI will also coordinate a working party in order to gather a range of expert voices and provide sector-wide consultation across a range of educational issues.
